Friday Knitting Inspiration. Kim Haller.
Kim Haller, a graduate of Parsons School of Design, is a knitwear designer who worked with such brands as Calvin Klein, Michael Kors Collection and DKNY. As a designer she's been always fascinated by the anatomy and "alchemy" of knitwear. She's been staying in the shade of big fashion names for decades before launching her own knitwear collection in 2014.Personally, I really love how wearable and "doable" Kim's pieces are. Basic stitch patterns, classic silhouettes, casual fit and neutral colors. Her collection doesn't "scream", but whispers with the love for quality fiber and knitting stitch. This textured skirt is probably the most dramatic item in the new collection. The simple raglan pullover knit in lace yarn, I believe, is such a wardrobe stapler!! Nothing can compare with the drape of a lace weight yarn! I know it will take forever to knit it by hand, but it must be such a relaxing knit - just plain endless colorful rows of stockinette stitch, a project that is all about the journey and not the destination...
