Friday Inspiration. Jo Hamilton Crochet Art.
Jo Hamilton, a talented artist from Scotland, has a degree in drawing and painting, but several years ago she picked up a crochet hook and yarn... and couldn't stop. I can totally understand her!"I create my large scale works one knot at a time using no graphs or patterns. I look, I work, I unravel and rework until I see the substance of a representation in my knots. The knotted yarn, so familiar in everyday life, takes the place of paint and allows me to examine the categories and conventions of western fine art as well as traditional craft, and to reinvent them." (Jo Hamilton)How amazing is that?! I love how alive her portraits are, especially the eyes! My favorite piece from Jo Hamilton's collection is the crochet town, Portland, where she lives and works at the moment. I would love to put it on my wall! The amount of work that needs to be put in each piece is enormous, but I guess this is what distinguishes the true artists - they will sacrifice a lot to bring their vision to life.

Have a nice crafty weekend!
P.S. Next week Friday Inspiration will be taken over by a World Crafter that will take us all the way to Moscow! Don't miss it :)
