ABC's Knitting Survey by Yarn Birdy

The moment I saw ABC's Knitting Survey by Alexis from Yarn Birdy blog I immediately fell in love! What a fun and great idea to know your fellow knitters better! Alexis kindly allowed me to share her survey here. I hope you are going to play along and do the same! I would be thrilled to know more about your knitting habits!Knitting Survey ABCAlone. I think I am so used to be a lonely knitter that the idea of knitting in a group is so unusual for me.Best. I think the most satisfying project for me was my Wildflower crochet dress. I loved combining different stitches in a unique pattern, I loved making it in the countryside of my childhood, I was pleasantly surprised how the shaping turned out just right and I love wearing it - it's so comfortable and versatile!Circular needles. I don't lose them that often :)Dream of knitting would be a long white crochet dress of my own design. Thank you for reminding me about it, Alexis! I have to start it, even if just 10 minutes a day! Step by step!Earliest knitting memory. My Granny knitting on a sofa and I am playing with the dog next to her.Family. My Mom used to take knitting classes when she was at school. And one of my Grannies is a life long knitter.Gloves. I have never made gloves or socks in my life. Can I still call myself a knitter? :)Home. Definitely. I feel shy knitting in public, I need my own atmosphere.Intarsia. I have never tried intarsia nor fair isle. So much to learn, so little time!Jokes. knitting jokeHaha! My husband knew that I had a lot of yarn, but he didn't expect it taking half of all space in the car when we were packing for a move :)Loyal. I love crochet and machine knitting as much as I love hand knitting. Each craft has something unique about it. But I am absolutely hopeless in other crafting whatsoever. I never considered myself a creative person until I picked up yarn.Mistake. When I just started knitting, I picked up a magazine and saw absolutely amazing textured grey cardigan. I looked at the pattern and thought that the notes on gauge and materials were sooo boring, so I skipped it. Well, after knitting a back of a cardigan for three weeks, the suspicion started crawling on me that something was wrong. It was. The back was 10 inches wide.Next project. A cardigan and a sweater for my husband (Pat, thank you for the link to the amazing pattern!!!)One or One dozen. Neither of that. One rarely happens, but I try to stay focused and not to work on more than 4 things at the same time.Pattern. I loved Deep End by Heidi Kirrmaier. Clear and simple.Quick. It is hard for me to judge, as I don't have anybody to compare myself to. I would say I am much much faster than myself 5 years ago!Ravelry. AWESOME. I get lost there :)Stitch. That is a hard one. I tend to switch between basics of garter/stockinette/moss and cables.Toys or hats. I would say hats for now. Though I have never made neither of them :)Ugliest. I remember taking Craftsy class Fit Your Knits by Stefanie Japel and desperately wanted to make a dress (of course :) ). It fit me perfectly (thank you, Stefanie!), but the choice of yarn, color and finishing was just horrible! It's still somewhere in the depths of my closet covered in dust and shame.Volume of yarn stash. I don't know. Or afraid to know :)Wool. Favorite fiber would be cotton, wool, bamboo, silk and linen. My dream is to try 100% cashmere.eXactly. I noticed that I follow patterns when knitting shawls, with garments - modifications start crawling in uncontrollably!Yarn. From a little shop in Mexico City and online.Z-end. Thank you so much, Alexis! I was happy to play along! Now it's your turn to continue the blogroll! Just repost the picture with the survey to one of your blog posts (please, give credit to Alexis, she did such a great job!) and answer the questions. If you don't have a blog, you can still answer some questions in the comments. So excited to know your knitting secrets :) So, who is in?!
