My YouTube Knitwear Channel
For the past several months I have been obsessed with the idea to bring my knitwear to a more dynamic and interactive digital format - the video. Being a very visual person myself, I know how much easier it is to learn any new technique or visualize the concept of the knit piece through the video rather through the written text, even when it is accompanied by photos. The idea was wandering inside of me for a couple of years now, but I always thought that there is no way I can put all of this together and make a product that will be both useful and visually appealing and dynamic enough for the knitters. And I didn’t want to share something that I myself would not enjoy. It took me a lot of post office hours reading about the video equipment, how to work with light, the sound, video editing software and all these technical details that have nothing to do with knitting itself, but that are important tools that will help me to transmit what I want.
Honestly I am just thankful for always having this attitude of “Have no idea how to do it, but I will learn it“, because after all this time, my first YouTube video is finally live and ready for you to watch and, hopefully, to learn from. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. You will probably see and hear the awkward stumbling, too long pauses and my accent can be distracting for some people. Does it matter? Nope. I just know that I am on my way to my goal to give life and dynamics to knitwear, share tips and techniques with both beginners and advanced knitters and take you along my design process.
I thought it would be logical to start my channel with the video version of one of my most visited and referred to posts here - How to Knit a Perfect Edge. I will greatly appreciate if you left your thoughts in the comments section of this video - what you liked and what I have to work at more.
