Ivy Sweater. Photo Album.
Today I am sharing the last "photo album" that I created for Vintage collection. Ivy with its turtleneck, cables and folded cuffs is my interpretation of a perfect cozy warm sweater that is engaging to knit and easy to wear. Ivy is knit using Elena yarn, holding two threads together. When I offered this option to Ioana, she loved the idea - hopefully this project will show how versatile Elena is.Obviously holding two threads together significantly speeds up the process, plus it creates very warm sweater that will protect you from any harsh winds. Being a very sturdy yarn, Elena is perfect for cables - it creates a great stitch definition with very nicely defined texture, but it is also "lofty" enough for keeping the shape without stretching. One great thing is that I don't notice any pilling on my Journey and The Choice sweaters, though they are more than one year old and have been worn quiet a lot.I love how this sweater is made of little details - cozy turtleneck, simple cable panel, compound raglan that follows your shoulder line, folded cuffs, side slits, slip stitch faux side seam...One of my favorite details is how the cables are "flowing" into 2x2 ribbing. This little design touch makes such a huge difference to me and makes the sweater "complete" in some way.Ivy sweater is a part of MY Make Along 2017, so, please, make sure to join Moeke Ravelry group if you are thinking of casting it on or already working on it.
